Dr. Bill Kerr, CEO

Dr. Kerr joined Avalon as its Chief Executive Officer in 2013. In his role as Avalon’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Kerr provides leadership and direction to the executive management team and the company’s goal of improving access to affordable, high-quality health care services for members of regional and national health plans.

Dr. Kerr is a physician and former cancer researcher with more than 20 years of experience in building and leading innovative programs in health plans and specialty benefit management companies.

Before joining Avalon Healthcare Solutions, Dr. Kerr was the Chief Medical and Growth Officer at CareCentrix, a company focused on health in the home. Prior to CareCentrix, Dr. Kerr was the Chief Medical Officer at WellCare Health Plans and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida. Dr. Kerr was previously Vice President, Professional Networks at Independence Blue Cross and regional medical director for a number of plans in Texas.

Dr. Kerr holds a BA from the University of Arkansas, an MBA from the University of Houston, a MD from the University of Arkansas and was a research associate in the Nuffield department of pathology at the University of Oxford.

Gregg Haddad, CFO

Gregg joined Avalon as its Chief Financial Officer in 2015. In his role as Chief Financial Officer, Gregg leads the company’s accounting and financial reporting, medical economics, financial planning, capital markets and treasury, and corporate development activities.

Gregg had been Vice President, Corporate Development of WellCare Health Plans since 2007 where he had responsibility for strategy and long-term planning, M&A transactions, capital structure, and interaction with the debt and equity markets including investor relations.

Prior to joining WellCare, Gregg was with First Analysis Securities leading health care services growth equity investments and securities analysis. In addition, he was with GE Capital for 15 years, holding positions in general management, finance, business strategy, marketing, and operations. Prior to joining GE Capital, Gregg was a certified public accountant with KPMG.

He holds a BBA with distinction from The University of Michigan and an MBA from The University of Chicago.

Steve Morgan, General Counsel

Steve joined Avalon as its General Counsel in 2015. In his role as General Counsel, Steve is responsible for all legal matters pertaining to the company. Steve is an attorney with extensive health care regulatory, transactional, and management experience. Prior to joining Avalon, Steve spent a decade with Express Scripts, the nation’s largest pharmacy benefit manager (PBM). Serving as Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Steve managed a team of attorneys who supported numerous Express Scripts businesses, including its PBM, government programs, Accredo Specialty Pharmacy, United BioSource Corporation, Freedom Fertility Pharmacy, and CuraScript SD Specialty Distribution. During his tenure at Express Scripts, the company grew from $16 billion to over $100 billion in annual revenue. This growth was fueled in part by numerous acquisitions for which Steve provided legal support, including Express Scripts’ $29 billion acquisition of Medco Health Solutions. Prior to joining Express Scripts, Steve worked for two law firms in Washington, D.C., where his legal practice focused on managed care organizations, health care providers, and pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Steve received his bachelor of arts, with honors, magna cum laude, and professional master of business administration from the University of Missouri. He received his juris doctor, magna cum laude, and master of health administration, with distinction, from St. Louis University.
