(June 10, 2020) The Health Plan Alliance, a national organization for provider sponsoredand independently owned health plan collaboration, today announced the addition of the AvalonHealthcare Solutions (Avalon) Program to its Group Purchasing Organization (GPO). Avalon is the expertin laboratory benefit management whose solutions are driven by evidence-based medical science.Avalons core laboratory management program includes full delegation of Routine Testing Management,Genetic Testing Management, and Independent Laboratory Network Management. Avalon manages alloutpatient lab spend across all lab testing types. Through Avalons solutions, Avalon delivers its customersapproximately 10%-18% annually in outpatient lab savings, or about $2-$3 per member per month.We are excited to add Avalon to our GPO, said Jaime Gonzlez, Alliance Chief BusinessDevelopment Officer.
